7MM IHMSA

Introduced in the 1980s, it is based on the .300 Savage case, necked down to accept 7mm (.284 inch) bullets. The cartridge typically uses bullets ranging in weight from 120 to 175 grains.
The main purpose of the 7MM IHMSA is to provide a flat trajectory and reliable performance at extended ranges, making it effective for knocking down metallic silhouettes at distances typically up to 200 meters or more. The cartridge is known for its accuracy and moderate recoil, which makes it suitable for handgun use in a competitive setting.
